Shai was previously at Keynote Systems (NASDAQ: KEYN), where he led the team responsible for Streaming Perspective, the industry standard for streaming performance measurement. Today some of the world’s largest companies (such as AOL, Akamai, BBC, CNN, CBS, Deutsche Telecom and MTV) use that service to ensure that their content reaches their audiences. Streaming Perspective is also the basis of Microsoft’s certification program for Windows Media hosting companies.

Shai led the Streamcheck team from its groundbreaking launch in August of 2000 until its acquisition by Keynote in July 2003.

Shai has been involved in the internet industry since the late 90’s. Shai presents frequently at industry events discussing the technical and economic issues that drive the use of streaming, telephony and other real-time protocols in the entertainment, educational and enterprise markets.

Shai has a degree in Engineering Physics from Queen’s University and a Master’s degree in Applied Science from the University of Toronto where he specialized in novel applications of fiber bragg gratings.  He was previously involved in fiber optics research where he worked on some of the earliest optical networking devices.
